Safety is a core value at John Korsmo Construction. Keeping our workforce safe while lowering risk to our clients is a paramount goal that we work on every day.

Our current EMR is .58 for the second consecutive year and we have an 11-year average of .55 EMR.

To enhance our safety program, we employ a full-time Safety Officer who continually monitors and amends our safety efforts in both the field and in our company headquarters. Additionally, we are very involved in organized safety and accident prevention through the Associated General Contractors of Washington Safety Team. We have been a member every year since 1992. Our active safety measures include:

• Specific site safety plan for every job site, including subcontractors.
   

• Regular, unannounced safety audits on job sites.
   

• Safety is a job performance measurement for all superintendents.
   

• First Aid and CPR Training for all superintendents.
   

• Serious Safety Violation Policy that is discussed with each job site employee and applies also to subcontractor employees.
